BIG TREE Scores The LRT Line Extension Project
The Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line Extension Project (LEP) involved the extension of RapidKL’s Ampang Line and Kelana Jaya Line to better integrate the urban public transportation services, while expanding the number of public transport commuters. This project established 25 new stations and extended both lines by 34.8km. Now in full operation, the entire LRT service (LRT and LRT LEP) comprise of 72 stations and 91.5km in length of lines. Both lines will pass through some of the most developed and highly populated areas in Klang Valley, connecting at Putra Heights, where an integrated station has been developed for the two lines to meet, providing a seamless journey to all commuters.
In June 2016, Prasarana had awarded Big Tree with the honour to continue managing advertising concessions for the Ampang and Kelana Jaya line including the new line extensions. This advertising concession also includes KL Monorail. Through winning this advertising contract, Big Tree has been able to augment its capacities of providing the One Transit Solution as part of Big Ride advertising opportunities.
The One Transit Solution includes advertising formats for station interior, outdoor exterior and LRT trains consisting of various formats to suit all advertising needs. Various formats such as the Spectacular AdTrack had undergone aesthetic enhancements; and the Wall Glitz had been a newly introduced media for LRT. The introduction of new and enhanced media formats has been associated with higher occupancy rate and greater effectiveness in advertising.
